PROGRAM
The Deewan Institute for Languages and Cultural Studies offers an Intensive Fall Study Abroad Program for students who want to immerse themselves in Arabic language and culture.
The program is designed to provide students with intensive language instruction and cultural immersion in a supportive environment. Students will receive language instructions from experienced teachers who are native speakers of Arabic, and will have the opportunity to practice their language skills through conversational practice and cultural activities.
In addition, the program includes cultural excursions to historical and cultural sites in Jordan, such as Petra, Wadi Rum, and the Dead Sea. These excursions offer the students the opportunity to experince the Jordanian culture firsthand and practice their language skills in real-world situations.
The program is open to students of all levels, from beginner to advanced, and can be tailored to meet the needs and interests of individual students. It is a great opportunity for students who are seeking to improve improve their Arabic language skills and experience the rich culture of Jordan.
Curriculum
The curriculum used in this program is developed by Deewan team and other additional curricula. Based on the students’ levels, the curricula used could be:
• The Comprehensive Guide to Modern Standard Arabic
(beginner level)
• The Comprehensive Guide to Levantine Arabic
(beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels)
Additionally, other Deewan resources will be used to improve and enrich students’ skills. The resources includes the following:
• Guide to Deewan Arabic Podcast
(seasons 1,2 &3, covering all levels)
• The 1000 Most Used Words in Spoken Arabic
(covering all levels)
• Everyday Arabic Idioms
(covering all levels)
• Everyday Arabic Idioms
(covering all levels)
Each of these publications builds students’ proficiency in Arabic in a certain area and focuses on all language skills.
Additionally, Deewan Institute offers students the option to study both Levantine Colloquial and Modern Standard Arabic in our special Mix Arabic Program. In this course, students will practice their reading and writing skills in standard Arabic, and they will be expressing their thoughts and ideas in Levantine Colloquial Arabic.

Tuition
• Tuition fees include transportation to and from the airport as well as cultural activities.
• Tuition fees do not include airfare to and from Amman.
The Deewan Stay
Deewan offers housing options for students in the Intensive Fall Study Abroad Program. Students can choose to stay either in an apartment or a family homestay.
The cost of housing in the institute’s apartments in Jabal Al-Weibdeh, the neighbourhood where Deewan is located, ranges from 300 to 400JOD ($550-$425) per month per person. This rate includes utilities,
Wi-Fi, and cleaning services.
Transportation
Tuition fees include transportation from and to the airport.
Cultural Experiences
- Two-weekend trips to Petra and Wadi Rum and a day trip to the Dead Sea.
- Other cultural experiences include cooking classes, Palestinian embroidery, and exploring downtown Amman.
- Additional weekend trips are encouraged. We would be happy to help students organize additional trips, and we can also set them up with several reputable
travel and adventure agencies operating throughout Jordan.
